Voyage North - photo essay (7) Magerøya

A late evening trip around the island of Magerøya. At this latitude and time of year we were still in the 'midnight sun' range. In the late evening the cloud cleared on the horizon allowing the low sun to shine underneath the remaining cloud cover, giving these images created by an almost-midnight sun.



This next image shows, on the left side, the rear view of the east flank of North Cape. A little way down the mountain slope stands the rock formation known as the 'North Cape Horn', which is an ancient Sami site of sacrifice:
