In the churchyard

Squirrels and snowdrops.

Lake and margins

Through Abbey Fields to and from the Castle.

The lake has frozen over - these three mallards are walking purposefully towards some people who may be bringing food for them!

One small area of unfrozen water remains, kept open by determined continuous swimming. As well as the ducks (the swans were elsewhere today) we have a seemingly permanent population of resident little gulls, who have swapped the sea for our freshwater lake . . . located as far from the sea as it is possible to get in England!

Spiky seed heads on the lake margins.

Sandstone in monochrome

A walk around Kenilworth Castle in bright winter sun.
