Cotswolds 2: Lower Slaughter

 The second picturesque location!

Cotswolds 1: Bourton-on-the-Water

Yesterday was the first outing of my photography group since February last year - we just managed one trip before Covid lockdown stopped everything.

This one was an interesting/tricky expedition, for two reasons. First, the business of moving round with a group, while making time and space for one's own images, requires some deftness, and we're all out of the habit!

Second, we went to two locations in the Cotswolds, Bourton-on-the-Water and Lower Slaughter. Both are typically attractive places, with warm honey-coloured stone, attractive traditional buildings, running water, pretty bridges . . . and tourists. Many images and Selfies of the views have been posted online, but I found it surprisingly difficult to shift from 'here's a pretty cottage' to something that actually made an interestingly composed photograph; especially one without too many random other people in shot.
