North Norfolk (5) - RSPB Titchwell Marsh

The North Norfolk coast is well populated with nature reserves, a number of which are run by the RSPB. Titchwell Marsh faces due north and consists of both freshwater and saltwater marshes, as well as dunes and coastal habitats.

And two days later, back home after the journey, and waking up the next morning, the early sun caught a spider's web on the tree in my front garden:

North Norfolk (4) - The Wash at low tide

In parts of The Wash the sea is very shallow, with shifting sandbanks, exposed at low tide. The resident seal population hauls out onto the sandbanks when they appear. An amphibious vehicle called The Wash Monster takes trips out from the beach, either along the coast to view the cliffs, or - at low tide - out to the sandbanks to see the seals.

The Lincolnshire coast is visible in the far distance.

North Norfolk (3) - Old Hunstanton beach

The village of Old Hunstanton lies to the north of Hunstanton, but still facing west across The Wash.

North Norfolk (2) - Snettisham, storm approaching over The Wash

The following day, the hot weather started to break down into thunderstorms. I was at RSPB Snettisham, out in the middle of nowhere, a long way from the car park, when the storm started approaching. These images are facing west, towards the Lincolnshire side of The Wash.

North Norfolk (1) - early evening on Hunstanton beach

After a long, uncomfortable drive in 33C heat, I walked down to the beach as the sun began to go down. I hadn't been planning on taking photographs so I had only my phone with me. These are just phone snaps in failing light, that don't bear much zooming in or close technical scrutiny!
