A walk in the woods

After finding lumberjacks (see previous post) blocking my preferred route for today, I took another path. Here is a series of images in fading winter afternoon sun.

Lumberjacks

This afternoon I went for  walk in the woods - a nature reserve - at the end of my street. The route I was intending to take was roped off: four days after Storm Ciara, and three days before Storm Dennis is due, a damaged tree in danger of falling was being taken down.

I hadn't gone out expecting to photograph lumberjacks high in the treetops, so I hadn't got a long lens with me - these images are thumbnails cropped out of much larger frames . . . all a bit grainy! But I managed to catch a sawn branch as it fell.
