Both old and new parts of the city centre are laced with arches, cut-throughs, entrances and alleyways. These form structural features in themselves, as well as providing practical thoroughfares and invitations to explore.
This first image, looking almost rural, is right in the middle of all the urbanisation - only the hints of buildings in the background give this away . . . otherwise it could be an old canal bridge anywhere in the English countryside.
