Foxton Locks (3) - the locks
The locks are steep and deep:
And all that water has to go somewhere, with the sudden pressure of the lock paddles being released:
Foxton Locks (1) - canal environs
My photography group went on an outing to Foxton Locks - a very steep continuous flight of locks, with only one pool half way down. The weather was grey, overcast, verging on rain, and the light was murky. Additionally, the colour palette around canal structures is very limited - concrete, red brick, grass; and in early March, leafless trees and no blue sky! So I have processed everything in monochrome, which turns out to be much more interesting in those conditions.
